Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover confirmed the name of the man found dead Thursday, February 25 in the Santa Barbara Harbor. He is 66-year-old Daniel Espinoza, a Santa Barbara-area homeless person.

Around 6:40 a.m. that morning, according to city police spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood, two passersby pulled to shore a body they saw “floating facedown in the water.” City police said there were no signs of foul play in Espinoza’s death, which Hoover said was due to drowning.
