American Republican candidates are presently sparring over who plans to drop more bombs in the Middle East, and several European nations have now closed their borders to Syrian civilians fleeing the carnage in their country. We have debates in our Congress about blocking these unfortunate victims from entering our shores. Your cover story about Robert and Robin Jones’s experiences in Greece moved me to tears. What will it take for us to stop pretending that military actions taking place out of our view, but which we are deeply complicit in, are not our concern?
