In reading Nick Welsh’s April 4 “Whumped Again” story, I have to take a shot at Sheriff Brown (or any other cop) regarding what he perceives to be constant underfunding for his pet projects and wants. But as there’s a certain ring of truth to it, I’ll proceed in noting that this may, indeed, be but another unfortunate example of why the gendarmes are popularly equated with certain, split-hooved farm animals known for their over-consumption.
