Hartmann: Honest, Hardworking, Independent

Now that the primary is over and the November election fast approaches, it is very entertaining to watch our various candidates trying to convince the voters that they will fix everything. Entertaining, yes, but depressing at the same time.

The news is dominated by rude, loud-mouthed, dishonest, uninformed, know-it-alls, who yell, scream, and spout foul language. In short, they behave exactly the opposite of what we try to teach our kids.

Locally, with a few exceptions, things are much better. Here in the 3rd District supervisor race, we have a longtime Buellton resident running for office: That would be Joan Hartmann, whom we support

Who is honest, hardworking, independent, with a history of moderate Land Use Planning decisions and thoughtful Community Service? That would be Joan Hartmann.

Joan Hartmann is soft-spoken, well informed, and the one with a proven track record as our planning commissioner, a record that she does her homework, carefully listens to all sides, and then consistently votes in the best interests of our communities.

She consistently supports moderate growth, appropriate to our available water, other resources, and infrastructure.

It is clear that Joan Hartmann’s background and experience makes her the best choice for our 3rd District supervisor.
