Panga Boat Found near Mariposa Reina

A county Air Support helicopter on patrol Sunday morning spotted a panga boat abandoned just south of Mariposa Reina. The 25-footer was found to hold 18 fuel containers on board, and about 130 gallons of fuel, but no passengers, pilots, or contraband. A search of the area by Sheriff’s deputies, State Park personnel, Coast Guard and investigators with Homeland Security was fruitless. The panga is now in the possession of Homeland Security.
