S.B. Celebrates Licorice Day with Red Vines
Popular Candy Coasts to Town with California Collection Next Week
Attention, sweet tooths: Wednesday, April 12 is National Licorice Day, and on Monday, April 17 you can continue your celebrations when Red Vines rolls into town to pass out free samples of their new California Collection package. A VW van decked out in candy-coated California coastal colors will provide tastings of the sweet treats in the parking lot on Garden St. and Cabrillo Blvd. adjacent to the bike path. Seven classic licorice pieces make up the Red Vines California Collection, packed with a shapely variety of the chewy-good candy that includes Black Licorice Twists, Original Red Twists, Black Licorice Bites, Original Red Bites, Super Ropes, Original Red Bars, and Superstrings.
Though the original American Licorice Company was founded in Chicago, IL, in 1914, the Red Vines product has been Californian for almost as long. “Red Vines candy has been made in California for over 90 years,” said Ingrid Barrientos, assistant brand manager of Red Vines. “We created the California Collection to share our heritage of quality and flavor with our loyal fans in a one-of-a-kind package that captures the essence of the California mindset.”
Just how well do they capture that, you wonder? Let your taste buds be the judge and head on over to the parking lot on Garden St. and Cabrillo Blvd. to find out!
