As many a Platinum pass holder will no doubt be happy to tell you, there’s another world going on behind the velvet ropes that guard the Film Festival’s private areas. The 85 Lounge, to the left of the Arlington’s State Street entrance, is the most exclusive, and is used for the VIP receptions prior to the tributes; the VIP after parties take place on the patio to side of the Arlington’s lobby. A few blocks away at the Lobero, there’s the festival lounge, a non-stop networking opportunity that’s open during happy hour and again after the tributes.

For luxury brands, placement in these lounges creates an aura of glamor and exclusivity, and no product category benefits more directly from this association than premium spirits. This year, Belvedere vodka sits on the fest’s top shelf as a premiere sponsor, and they have gone all out with themed bars, special cocktails, and branded decorative glassware. For Belvedere United States VP Carlos Zepeda, it’s about reaching people who are truly passionate about film. “Belvedere Vodka is proud to return as a sponsor of SBIFF for the second year,” said Zepeda. “Given our brand’s foundation in the spirit of community, SBIFF’s celebration of the tremendous filmmakers and actors being honored this year is reflective of our shared values.”
