Man Killed on Railroad Tracks

A man was struck and killed by the northbound train around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police spokesperson Anthony Wagner confirmed today. He appeared to be homeless, said Wagner, and was found in the area between Mission Street and Las Positas Road, said City Fire spokesperson Kevin Corbett. The police investigation concluded that the man died by suicide.

[Update: Oct. 30] The Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has released identification for the man, who was 62-year-old David Woollum of Santa Barbara.
