Older Mize Brother Sentenced

Robert Martinez, who turned against his younger brother Ruben Mize and testified in Mize’s murder trial, was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison as a result of a conviction resulting from Operation Gator Roll. Martinez was already in jail awaiting charges for accessory after the fact. He testified that he helped Mize get rid of weapons related to a 2007 stabbing murder. It is unclear what effect his sentencing in federal court will have on two pending cases he has in Santa Barbara County.
