Santa Barbara Independent publisher and majority owner Randy Campbell has filed a notice of his intention to appeal Judge Denise de Bellefeuille’s decision in favor of the paper’s editor in chief Marianne Partridge in her lawsuit against Campbell. The judge, after a weeklong trial this summer, found Partridge had a legally enforceable contract with Campbell in which he would be forced sell his shares in the company to Partridge, who currently owns 16.3 percent of the paper.
