Governor Signs School Speed Limit Bill
Santa Barbara area PTA President Paula Perotte, Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Nordyke, and Safe Routes to School activist Eva Inbar took some bows for Gov. Schwarzenegger’s signing of AB321, for which they lobbied and which Assemblymember Pedro Nava authored. It reduces the speed limit to 15 miles per hour within 500 feet of schools, and 25 miles per hour within 1,000 feet.
