In these difficult times, when those of us who are frightened and concerned with ones eventual mortality, switching to cross pendant bling or tatted cross and then sending the kids to parochial schools will not "save" you or your kids. It is a shame that we are becoming so superstitious as to start a "Providence Hall" school for any age. Science based education is the only hope for us to evolve from these contemporary dark ages. On Learning Religion

Matt's response is one of denial. As usual Matt's articles are very detailed as his second paragraph states in fantastic lurid reality. It would have been nice to know who the VIPs actualy were besides the special interest "media types." Were any law enforcements dignitaries in attendance partaking in the delight of all the free booze and watching or ignoring the surroundings and their law enforcement duties? Now that would have been a story.

Matt reported having "And about three beers/cocktails, all in the span of 30 minutes" is binge drinking. I would not be one to be giving unsolicited advice, however public drunkedness requires a public response. You might want to check into Alcoholic Anonymous or at least do a little soul searching before you end up trying to hide your face from the press should you end up in jail for a DUI, associated offense or even dead.

Matts articles are always fully detailed and accurate accounts including the fashion details of courtroom attendees. You'll make an excellent reporter one day if you ever figure out where the true story lies.

On The Joy of Carnival Rides

Nice adolescent descriptions of a VIP nite at the Fair and the resulting emanations of various vomit spinner rides. I haven't read about so much fun at the showgrounds since D.J. Palladino reminisced a couple years ago describing his days as a teenager where his mommy and daddy would drop him off at Adams School so he could enjoy concerts amongst a heady scent of "incense." I know the Showground is trying to provide a wholesome family event but the description of booze binging and the resulting barf really makes me want to not go anywhere near those spinning vomit distributors events. Besides, what about the adjacent poorly represented Samarkand adjacent hood on Calle Real and Las Positas. I am quite sure every VIP who could not walk home or to a far away friends house had a designated driver to get the VIP family home safely. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a sheriff or police department that would patrol the area, much in the same way a sting operation did to bust the Vintners Festival drunk driving attendees last week.
