Harry Potter Release Party

The folks at Borders Books are throwing a Harry Potter-themed release party like no other this Friday, July 20. Beginning at 8 p.m., fans can participate in the Harry Potter Spelling Bee, listen to the Great Snape Debate, go on scavenger hunts throughout the store, get their fortune told by the Divination Teacher, and enjoy snacks from the Leaky Cauldron cafe. At midnight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will officially go on sale. Purchases will be arranged on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended. And although Borders has books to spare, with the high number of Potter fans expected to turn out, reserving a book ahead of time is a good idea, especially since reserved patrons get a 40 percent discount off the publisher’s listed price.
