Longtime Montecito public servant, community leader and Montecito Association Board member Barry Siegel passed away Thursday night after suffering from a stroke. Services will be held at noon on Monday, Sept. 24, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1500 State Street. The following remembrance has been provided by Barry’s family and Montage is honored to post it as a salute to a man who dedicated so much of his time in making our community a better place to live! He will be sorely missed:

Barry Siegel, a community activist and retired engineer, died peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2007. He was 74 years old. Barry grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended local public schools and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in aeronautical engineering.
