County Supervisors Consider Parcel Tax
The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors voted on 9/25 to place a measure on February’s presidential primary ballot which, if passed, would create a $32 parcel tax to pay for uncompensated emergency medical services, which annually cost $8 million. The Maddy Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Care fund currently generates only $1.6 million annually, but the proposed measure is an effort to address funding concerns faced by the county.
