This Saturday, May 17, the Santa Barbara Public Library (40 E. Anapamu St.) will host a sale of old, rare, and valuable books from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Items up for grabs include photography and art books, signed and limited-edition copies, reference sets, magazines, and newspapers. All proceeds will benefit the S.B. Central Library.

Nothing But Trouble
The Independent’s own Starshine Roshell will be leading a talk and Q&A session, Newspaper Columns That Got Me in Trouble, this Saturday, May 17, in the Patio Room at Vista del Monte (3775 Modoc Rd.) at 2:30 p.m. Roshell’s award-winning syndicated column will serve as fodder. A $2-$5 donation is requested for attendees.

Casting for the lead role in ABC’s The Bachelor has officially begun. Now in its 13th season, the hit reality series is looking for an ambitious, charming, and successful leading man, ideally between the ages of 22 and 40, to be the show’s next star.
