The Tea Fire is now pushing 400 acres. “The wind is really in control,” City Fire Chief Ron Prince told KEYT minutes ago. He said the fire does have the ability to grow much larger than it is currently.

Indy reporter Ethan Stewart reports that Alta Vista Road has been evacuated. No confirmation yet from fire officials. Residents should remain ready to leave if told to do so. The county is still reporting the following areas as being under mandatory evacuation: Sycamore Canyon and Coyote have been evacuated, Hot Springs Road to Mission Canyon Road north of 192, Alameda Padre Serra (APS) between Sycamore Canyon and Mission Canyon roads. The evacuees should go to San Marcos High School at 4750 Hollister Avenue in Goleta.

Four people who suffered burns arrived at Cottage Hospital, according to KEYT. They were taken to a burn center in Irvine. No reports of deaths resulting from the Tea Fire.

County spokesperson William Boyer has announced that if the public has questions, the info center can be reached at (805) 681-5197.

No word yet on how fast the fire is moving. A fire spokesperson speaking on KEYT said that people must be alert and in touch with local media for updates.

Direct Relief International, a Goleta-based humanitarian aid organization, announced that it is extending emergency assistance to the County Office of Emergency Services, which includes 10,000 respirators and personal care products for evacuees.
