Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a Dos Pueblos High School tenth-grader, Cary Lynch, who reportedly went missing around noon on Thursday, May 28.

Missing Dos Pueblos High School student Cary Lynch.

An email sent out to area media on behalf of Lynch’s mother, Wendy Lynch, described the boy as a light-skinned African-American, 5’11” and 140 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Before he vanished, the boy was wearing a T-shirt, jeans and white K-Swiss sneakers.

After Dos Pueblos High School officials realized the boy was missing, they contacted Wendy Lynch and informed her of the situation. A search revealed no sign of the boy, however. The email urged that “If anyone is sheltering him and does not know he is a missing person, they should immediately call law enforcement; his mother is deeply afraid and worried. Please let her know that Cary’s okay.” Those who had reason to be around places that young people might congregate – schools, skate parks, recreation areas, etc. – were also asked to keep an eye out for the boy.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at (805) 681-4100.
