The Good Cup’s Beth is ready to serve up a cappuccino and a tomato, basil, and mozzarella panini at the Mesa’s independently owned coffee shop.
Paul Wellman

Where: 1819 Cliff Dr., 963-8699.

What: A spacious neighborhood coffee shop on the Mesa.

How Much: $3-$5 for coffee, depending on make and size.

The Dish: The Mesa’s independent coffee shop serves good cup after good cup of coffee and loose-leaf tea seven days a week in the Lazy Acres shopping center where Cliff Drive meets Meigs Road. The well-lit space is very conducive to studying and reading, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as Wi-Fi Internet access. Lattes and cappuccinos are served piping hot, Caribbean Coffee Co. grounds are dripped throughout the day, and a mightily enthusiastic staff takes orders for java, SerendipiTea loose-leaf teas, sandwiches, D’Angelo’s and Debbie’s Delights’ freshly baked pastries, and scoops of creamy ice cream. A frequent buyer’s program keeps regulars coming back for every 11th cup on the house (buy 10, get the 11th free). The far wall is lined with an eclectic selection of gift items, mostly consisting of a cute and kitschy note card selection.
