It’s time again to tidy up our beaches and waterways. Last year, folks cleared almost 4,700 pounds of refuse from Santa Barbara’s wet spaces. This year, 25 sites are slated for cleanup, including Arroyo Burro Beach, Butterfly Beach, Carpinteria Creeks, Jalama Beach, Goleta Creeks, and West Beach. To volunteer, show up at one of these spots, and a site captain will get you started. Be sure to bring your own gloves and a bag or bucket for debris collection. Cleanup takes place Saturday, September 25, 9 a.m.-noon. For more information (including a complete list of locations), call 882-3619 or visit lessismore.org/coast.
