Breast Walk Success

Big thanks to Steve Hyslop and the gang at Chuck’s Waterfront Grill and The Endless Summer bar~cafe for hosting “Eat and Drink for the Cure!” on October 6. The event was held there in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, a 60-mile walk over the course of three days taking place in 15 communities across the country. The event I’m raising funds for and participating in is in Arizona in November.

Despite the weather, we had a pretty good showing. Factoring in the sales of the raffle tickets and breast cancer awareness items, plus the restaurants’ contribution, I was able to not only meet but exceed my fundraising goal for the night!

It was wonderful event helped made possible by the generosity of some fine folks including Truth Aquatics, Santa Barbara Sailing Center, Paddle Sports of Santa Barbara and of course Chuck’s and Endless Summer. Thanks also to the Independent, Gary and Catherine from K-LITE, and others who helped me get the word out.
