[UPDATE, 1:57 p.m.]: All southbound lanes are now open.

[ORIGINAL REPORT]: All southbound lanes of Highway 101 at the Winchester/Hollister exit in Goleta were closed around 11 a.m. today after a truck hit debris hanging from the existing overpass then ran into the newly constructed overpass a short distance down the road.

At least one lane has now been reopened, reports the California Highway Patrol, though drivers are advised to use Highway 154 if they’re traveling south from North County. During the complete closure, drivers were able to exit at the Winchester/Hollister offramp then get back on the highway from the nearby onramp.

A CHP spokesperson was not immediately available for comment, but more information will be provided once it becomes available.
