Missing Man Found

The day after 73-year-old Dennis Franks — who suffers from dementia — went missing near the Embarcadero Canyon area, he was spotted sitting in the bushes on a steep hillside. A resident on the 100 block of Vereda Cordillera made the discovery Thursday afternoon and called authorities. Franks lives within a few blocks of where he was found.

He appeared dehydrated, said Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Drew Sugars, and received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to the hospital.
