Grand Jury Indicts Four Men on Murder Charges
A Santa Barbara Grand Jury indicted four men on murder charges related to the beating death of 37-year-old George Ied, who, after days on life support, died at Cottage Hospital on 10/16/2010. Brothers Miguel and Ismael Parra, Steven Santana, and Michael Cardenas were all indicted by the Grand Jury, whose proceedings are closed to the public. The transcripts of the proceedings become public 10 days after they’re received by defense counsel. Ied was on his way home from work at Mi Fiesta Liquor on Milpas Street when he was beaten unconscious only a block away from his Punta Gorda Street home. The Parras and Cardenas were back in court on 4/5, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges.
