Nearly a dozen suspected gang members were arrested in North County as part of an area and federal effort to combat violence and drug trafficking making its way up the coast from Los Angeles. A federal grand jury in Los Angeles named 10 of those targeted on charges of conspiracy and distributing methamphetamine. Some of those to be prosecuted federally face up to life in prison, while four will be facing state charges prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Office.
