It appears a potential deal is in the works between the District Attorney’s office and several of the defendants facing marijuana-related charges stemming from last year’s raid of the now-shuttered Hortipharm medical cannabis dispensary on upper State Street. Hortipharm owner Josh Braun and his wife Dayli, along with five other co-defendants, were indicted by a Grand Jury in mid-April on several felony counts of alleged money laundering and assorted crimes. They are currently making their way through the various procedural hurdles on the way to a future trial. However, based on statements made in court this week by Judge Brian Hill and the Braun’s defense attorney, Liz O’Brien, it seems a series of deals may be coming together that would potentially plea down the charges for certain defendents and see them thrown out all together for others. The matter is due back in Hill’s courtroom on 7/12.
