PODS Moving and Storage Donates More Than $78,000 in Logistics in 2011
Using his own budget, trucks, fuel and employees, Steve Yapp, franchise owner of PODS moving and storage which serves the Tri-Counties, saved local nonprofits more than $78,000 in logistics costs in 2011.
Since opening his doors in 2005, Yapp has made supporting the community a vital part of his business. Some of the organizations PODS currently supports are Boys & Girls Club, FOOD Share of Ventura County, Casa Pacifica, Toys for Tots and the California Strawberry Festival.
“I believe in structuring my business so that supporting local nonprofit organizations is a priority,” said Yapp. “Not only has PODS Tri-Counties seen continual success since we began, there is nothing more fulfilling than making a difference, right in your very own community.”
The donated PODS® containers and moving and storage services have allowed the more than 50 local nonprofits to more efficiently serve the communities throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Newer PODS® containers have the same steel frame construction but are completely recyclable panels made of steel skins and a high-density polyethylene core.
