Smile-a-Barbara
In a majestic town, where mountains near reach the beach,
One resident felt the deep need to beseech
Fellow town dwellers to view the beauty within reach
And share, perhaps, one thing each
Which make Santa Barbara such a pretty peach.
“What’s better now than 10 years ago?”
“The Cabrillo ball field is a safer place to go –
No longer just a homeless druggie show.”
“Also, Rodger Dodger is now laying low –
No drinking, just police radio.”
“We’ve got more Starbucks to which we can go
For free internet with each Frappuccino.”
“The availability of organic food continues to grow –
There is even delivery for that claustrophobic Joe!”
“The Cacique underpass makes downtown travel less slow,
While the Milpas roundabout still confuses.” (Oh no!)
“The Apple store moved in a while ago.
People seem happy to see it’s store lights glow.”
“Cruise ships now stop by to say hello,
Bringing tourists with money to blow,
Proving Santa Barbara’s a great place to live in and know.”
