Funds raised on the opening evening will benefit the Cancer Center’s Clinical Research Program, making new cancer treatments available to adult and pediatric patients in the Santa Barbara community. Clinical trials are vital to the evolution of cancer treatment, and Cancer Center patients have access to more than 20 national and global cancer research trials led by our outstanding physicians and scientists that keep us on the path of discovery and help advance our goal of returning our patients to good health. The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara with Sansum Clinic, now with a larger, more specialized team of physicians, is an even stronger partner for research sponsors seeking to open clinical trials on the local level. As a result, even more potentially life-saving treatment options are offered while contributing to the larger field of cancer knowledge.
