On Saturday, September 7th starting at noon, the SB community can experience Brazilian culture at its best with a day of free events, classes and performances in honor of Brazil’s Independence Day. It is a perfect way to really dive into Brazil… and into Brasil Art Cafe’s Eat Drink Move vibe.
Brasil Arts Cafe will kick off the festivities at lunchtime with the Brasil vs. Australia soccer match. At 3pm, Chefs Cida Sousa and Carlos Lima are teaching Brazilian culinary classes followed by fun performances – from Samba to Capoeira to Pandeiro – a small hand drum that’s considered unofficial instrument of Brasil. Other Brazilian owned companies are participating including, Santa Barbara Samba School and Hip Brazil. Brasil Arts Café was opened to bring the Brazilian culture to SB and this embodies all Brazil has to offer.
There will also be live Brazilian music with Bruno, Luana, Miguelito, and Chin begin at 6:30pm. After the celebration at Brasil Arts Café, everyone can head over to SOHO for the after party at 10pm. We want Santa Barbara to celebrate Brazil’s Independence and culture and hope you can help spread the word (and join us)! Here is the full schedule of events:
