How did you guys meet? I put out an ad on Craigslist. I had a bunch of people get back to me, but Allie really stuck out — there was something about the quality of her voice that was really captivating. We met up and talked about music a bit and decided, yeah, we should probably see if we can collaborate. We got started at the end of 2012, so it took us a while.

Who came up with the band name? We had a couple of names kicking around, but Mexico City Blondes was one I had in my head for a while. I didn’t know if Allie was going to be into it, but I tossed it out there, and she loved it. That was it.

If you had to describe the band’s live show, what would you say? We’re going to bring the rock.

What was the first record/CD you purchased? No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom (Allie); I think it was MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” on tape (Greg)

What was the first concert you attended? R.E.M. on the Monster Tour (Greg); I don’t even want to go there. I went through a country phase. It was embarrassing. (Allie)

What’s the last song that made you cry? It was the video for Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” (Allie); Mindy Smith’s “One Moment More” (Greg)
