Reading another article about Naples, and Osgood, and a Mr. Liu, is like having that same allergy I’ve had for years coming back again this spring. Just when I thought I’d found a cure.

This time, though, I feel it’s different. Rather than fight against my allergies, I chose to strengthen my immune system; you know, get stronger. This time, all of us who have been “fighting to protect the coast” are now rallying “to create our future”; and we’re passionate, connected, and strong; and we’re getting stronger.

Our land and our future belong to all of us, not to the few, but to our community, most importantly to our children. The same children we’re teaching to be good and kind, to have moral character, to think of others, to help others and be of service, to be honest and loving, to love nature and this Earth, to be good caretakers of the land, to plant a garden, to love all beings, and to make these character traits and responsibilities the “glue” that holds their relationships and their community together.

We as a community will do everything we can to protect the land and that future for them, and for their children. This is our commitment.
