This Monday, noon-1:15 p.m., the Citizens Planning Association hosts briefings on a wide range of Goleta Valley planning, land use, and environmental issues at the Carrillo-Hill Adobe, 15 East Carrillo Street, adjacent to Montecito Bank & Trust, in downtown Santa Barbara.

• Senior County Planning & Development Long Range Planning staff will update the status of both the East Goleta Community Plan, and the Gaviota Coast Protection Plan, after last week’s Planning Commission and other special hearings. These will touch on the new proposal to develop More Mesa; a new initiative to protect foothill chaparral habitat, and new environmental inputs on the Gaviota Coast draft Plan.

• Jennifer Carman, Goleta City planning director, will share an overview of where land use and development may be heading in the City of Goleta, including the CHP’s proposal for a new office on Hollister, near Ellwood School, and a proposed higher density “urban village” on South Kellogg, between Old Town Goleta and the ocean.

As always, the meeting is free. Guests are welcome. Brown bag lunch is fine.

Free parking for 75 minutes is available at City Parking Lot 8 (Anacapa and Figueroa) and Lot 9 (Anacapa and Carrillo).
