Charge on Chargers
When choosing the new S.B. Police Department vehicles, a few interesting ideas have been made. I wonder just how much research went into choosing the Ford mid-size SUV.
Expert rankings and reviews say quite a bit, just as test driving a vehicle yourself rather than relying “on what others are buying”.
Michigan State Troopers hold a challenge every year. The Charger won last year hands down on braking, lap time, and acceleration. These are all necessary aspects of a good squad car. They’re also very stylish, in my opinion. If you’ve seen a Charger in “pursuit mode,” you’d probably know what I mean.
Ford has been quite lucky when it comes to purchases for the public sector. The Crown Vic is a popular choice nationwide, yet they decided to end production.
I like Chrysler. I own an ’05 Town and Country that’s never gave me a problem. Explorers (and Fords for that matter) are rife with problems in recent years. The biggest complaints are exhaust in the cabins and braking issues.
It should be noted that it seems Chrysler is far more interested in keeping production going within the United States. (Ford’s production has now spanned the globe after it closed most of its factories at home.)
