A bill to prevent mobile home park owners from subdividing and condo-izing their rent-controlled parks failed in the State Senate on 9/7, after passing in the Assembly. Rancho Mobile Home Park residents were hoping that AB 1542 would torpedo owner Daniel Guggenheim’s current bid to condo-ize the park, which follows his failed federal court challenge to Goleta’s mobile home rent control laws.
