The Isla Vista Foot Patrol dealt with a stabbing as well as multiple reports of sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults over the weekend.

Just after midnight Sunday morning, deputies were walking down the 6500 block of Del Playa when they heard subjects yelling and saw them running. When they arrived at the house at 6575 Del Playa they found two men helping a 21-year-old UCSB student Eli Weiner, who had a stab wound on his lower left back. After sealing off the area and speaking with witnesses, authorities determined Weiner and his friends had been told they couldn’t get into a party, and after a physical confrontation, Weiner was stabbed. Three males manning the door-likely from the Corona area, said Lt. Butch Arnoldi in a police statement-who were visiting a student that lived in the party house. Investigators collected evidence, including a knife, but have not yet named suspects or made any arrests.

A 20-year-old female UCSB student walked into the IV Foot Patrol on Friday at noon to report a sexual assault she said occurred in May 2006 on Camino Pescadero in I.V.. According to Arnoldi, the woman requested no prosecution and offered no specific suspect information.

However, at 2:31 a.m. on Saturday, the Foot Patrol responded to a call for an attempted sexual assault near Camino Pescadero and Seville Rd. They found the victim, a woman, on Cordoba Rd. The woman told authorities she had met the suspect to buy cocaine from him, but when she arrived, he pushed her into a car and starting ripping her clothes. Using her keys as a weapon between her fingers, she punched the man in the neck and was able to run away. The victim knows the suspect, because she had bought drugs from him before, but no arrests had been made. The suspect stole the drug money from the victim.

And then on Sunday afternoon, the Foot Patrol was called to investigate a potential sexual assault of an 18-year old female UCSB student who said she was at a party in the 6700 block of Trigo Rd. the previous evening and became sleepy. In her drowsy state, the woman was propositioned for sex, but declined. She believes she was assaulted after falling asleep. The woman declined a legal medical exam, but was interested in pressing charges.

No arrests have been made in either sexual assault case.
