Last fall, community members attended town hall meetings to express renovation wishes at their campuses. Some of what they came up with — a bigger pool at San Marcos or gymnasiums at all of the junior highs, for instance — were dubbed the “pies in the sky” but nonetheless a barometer for what a dream school campus could look like.
This paragraph will come back to haunt them. No matter what the need for removing the portables, any bond issue they try will be known as "The San Marcos Day Spa Bond Issue". Talk about tone deaf.
The city, county, and SBCC are considering other area tax increases in some form or another in 2016, Ebenstein added.
Thanks for the warning.2008 SBCC bond issue payer here.

When the lights went out I thought, they must've fired up the desal plant. Wrong, but what kind of upgrades will SCE need to make once that beast comes on line? Have those costs been include in the city's numbers? Or will we be looking at more brown/blackouts?

Headline a tad misleading as it appears the D.A separates the rollover from her ( allegedly ) DUI crashing into the wreck. Also, she is not pleading anything to the crash that killed the three because she isn't charged in that incident. I realize the Independent wants to attract eyeballs, but some more care would be appreciated. Tricky language, English.

"For crying out loud, REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT! !!!"
People drive at the speed at which they are comfortable, if you're not comfortable at 65, drive 55. Personally, I'm more concerned with the many drivers that aren't competent at any speed above walking.
While on the subject of safe driving, the Amber alert sign at Las Positas is warning everybody about using a cell phone while driving. Does the SBPD know about this law? Or the one about a loose animal in the passenger area of a car? What does the SBPD do all day long? They sure aren't making the roads safer.

The city has also fenced of the area between the steps from lot 10 down to Dargan's. I was told by a city worker that a wrought iron fence would soon be installed on the wall between the staircases.
