I think the big ships look cool against our coastline.
Let's do some math: 3000 passengers per ship times $200 = $600,000 in "cheap souvenirs" and restaurant fare per ship. Add 20 more ships and the total goes to $12,000,000 per year. Those are good numbers for Santa Barbara.
By the way, they do not dump sewage in our channel.
I can't wait to see some of the Naval ships come to port as well!!

To the jury: It was a long, emotional case. Good job on staying focused and delivering the guilty verdict. Thank you for your service!!!

If you did read the NP, you would see that they ran a very detailed Front Page description about all the items for sale from the recently deceased Daily Sound (RIP), down to post-it notes and paper clips. Seems they are a bit giddy about that one. Hopefully Roberts can get his cash . . .

Sounds like he made a deal. Probation is a good deal for possession of 20 lbs. Intent to sell usually = doing time . .

OK, maybe I'm a bit of a homey, but it looks like Hilo, Hawaii is in fact the orchid capital of the world. I hate it when you're right Bill!!

Orchids are not actually grown from bulbs. Orchids are very hard to propagate from seed, and are usually grown by division.
Since we live in the orchid capital of the world, I thought I'd correct that little comment about "the bulb has been celebrated..."

Here is another example of the SB city council trying to emulate other "green" cities with an ordinance that will have little or no impact on the poor Leatherback turtle.
None of my plastic bags make it into the ocean - I recycle or dispose of properly.
Did you know that the city trash pick up takes plastic bags for recycling? That should do the trick right there!
The first step towards a solution is to get the City Council to work on meaningful projects, not feel good legislation . .
