LOOKING UP: The Santa Barbara City Council took an early step
toward resolving upper State Street’s identity crisis by
appropriating $192,631 to hire consultants. Meyer, Mohaddes
Associates will prepare an improvement plan for the area by
analyzing traffic, circulation, and parking; distributing an
informational booklet to residents; and conducting public meetings.
The firm will also propose interim development standards and design
guidelines for City Council approval. About $67,000 will go to
Moore Iacofano Goltsman, Inc., which will help disseminate
information and proposals by offering graphics expertise and
facilitating meetings.
