A Day in the Life of Crazy

dayinthelifeofcrazy.jpgWhen Macy Weiser and Rob Ready formed We
Wear Pants Productions last year, there was no way to know that the
concept would take off and develop into Santa Barbara’s hottest
young original theater company. Now, two shows later, WWPP brings
us A Day in the Life of Crazy, Weiser’s new comedy, which follows
the very successful Roommate Wanted that played here earlier this

The We Wear Pants approach involves big helpings of
twenty-something reality, sitcom-style one-liners, and talented
actors who know how to work a room. The technique captures
something immediately recognizable and thoroughly entertaining
about the facebook.com generation: their willingness to perform.
Whether it’s through inviting a live band like Ona to share the
evening with them, as the troupe did for Roommate, or by inviting
friends in the audience to join them in the play’s nightclub set,
WWPP seems to just naturally find interesting openings in theater’s
fourth wall. The result is hip, fun-filled, and as good as any
sitcom, only better, because it’s live.

A Day in the Life of Crazy plays Thursday, August 17 through
Sunday, August 20 at 8 p.m., at Center Stage Theater in the Paseo
