Ken Curtis is stepping down as the City of Goleta’s director of
planning and environmental services. Curtis guided the City Council
through the writing of Goleta’s first draft General Plan, which has
yet to undergo environmental review and final approval by the city
and the state. He is retiring September 1 after a 30-year career
career in land-use planning. His post will be assumed by Steve
Chase, who on September 5 is leaving his job in Santa Barbara
County government, where he has worked since 2001. Chase currently
heads up the Development Review Division of the Planning and
Development Department.
