Green and Beer It
Edwin Datschefski was at Slug & Lettuce in London with some of his green-design buddies in 1989 when he noticed an enviro-minded friend at a nearby table with some of his eco-friendly mates. The groups pulled together their tables, and voil , the social concept of Green Drinks was born.
Green Drinks isn’t about creating verdantly vivid adult beverages, but rather a recurring cocktail party for environmentalists. No agenda. No need to furnish green creds. Just an early evening of drinking, talking, and commiserating. Kermit was right: It’s not easy being green; but, with Green Drinks, it’s a whole lot of fun.
No longer a “London-centric” get-together, environmentally friendly people in 243 cities worldwide are now thinking globally and drinking locally every month. Melbourne. Buenos Aires. Tokyo. And every third Tuesday of the month, Santa Barbara. Each month, a different local venue is the meeting spot, giving you a chance to experience some drinking holes and restaurants to which you might not have ventured.
