Ten juvenile Island foxes now call Santa Cruz Island home, after having been released there by National Park Service biologists on 10/8. The biologists said the hope is that these new foxes can help the indigenous canine’s population rebound. An estimated 300 now live on the Channel Islands. About 85 foxes have been released from captivity onto the islands since 2003.
