The most recently washed-up sailboat in a string of five.

The final tally on boats washed up onto the beach by this weekend’s storm stands at six, said Harbor Patrol officers patrolling the beach this morning. Five came ashore on Saturday, while a larger sailboat, approximately 40 feet in length, washed up on Sunday. Harbor Patrol officers also said that a boat sank in County waters. The bow line broke free, causing the boat’s stern to swing into the waves. The heavy seas crashed over the low transom until the boat foundered. Today, the Danny C.-a large salvage vessel-will be on hand to tow at least two of the boats off the beach and back out to their anchorage. The Harbor Patrol had no other damage to report.
