Lowe Nanny Says Actor Touched Her Inappropriately
Extortion Allegation Further Brings Dispute Into Celeb Media Limelight
Who needs Michael Jackson when Santa Barbara still has actor Rob Lowe to satisfy the insatiable appetites of gossip papers and paparazzi everywhere? This week, Lowe’s former nanny of seven years-Jessica Gibson-accused the one-time brat-pack star of touching her in a sexually inappropriate manner for nearly three years. Last week, Lowe had accused Gibson in legal papers to shake him down for $1.5 million by making outrageous and untrue allegations. Although extortion is a crime, Lowe declined to press criminal charges, saying he preferred to handle the matter in civil court. In response, the nanny hired fire famed litigator Gloria Allred, known for being equally at home in front of the TV cameras or a courtroom. Allred accused the Lowes of trying to intimidate Gibson by waging a pre-emptive legal attack. She vowed Gibson would not be deterred. In addition, Lowe has filed legal claims against two former chefs, accusing them of stealing food, talking trash about the Lowe family, and having sex with strangers in his and his wife’s bed.
