Santa Barbara Man Goes Missing
Fresno Sheriff's Deputies Continue Search
Christopher Sorrow, a 30-year-old Santa Barbara man, was reported missing on Saturday morning in the Huntington Lake area of Fresno County, which is roughly 65 miles northeast of the City of Fresno. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department currently has 20 people, supported by a helicopter, engaged in the search for Sorrow, who they have reason to believe is or was suicidal. His family reported him missing, and his truck, a purple Dodge pickup, was found near one of Huntington Lake’s campsites. No other evidence has been found, said a Sheriff’s Department watch commander.
According to deputies, Sorrow is approximately six feet tall, 180 pounds, has short brown hair, green eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt and tan shorts.
The sheriff’s search and rescue team have had a busy weekend in Fresno County, taking their focus away from the Sorrow search. The team was originally called to duty Saturday morning to a different area, looking for two overdue fishermen who were eventually found. Sunday night team members were reassigned to another search two hours away. The missing man and his 12-year-old son, who were hunting and hadn’t returned by sunset, were found early this morning.
Anyone with information related to Sorrow is asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department at (559) 488-3111.
NOTE: Since the original posting of this story, the Fresno Sheriff has called off its search for Sorrow, noting that may witnesses have seen him alive and well. The sheriff declared that Sorrow is “missing by choice.”
