The Santa Barbara City Council voted 5-2 on 10/21 to adopt a proposal from the city’s Transportation Division and Public Works Department to change the speed limit on portions of two heavily traveled downtown streets. The measure lowers the speed limit on the stretch of Haley Street between Chapala and Milpas from 30 to 25 miles per hour but also raises the speed allowed on De la Vina Street between Micheltorena and Haley from 25 to 30 miles per hour.
