Reserves recently training in the U.S. Army Reserve Center on upper State Street were deployed to Kuwait and are now awaiting assignment to Iraq. Members of the 425th Civil Affairs Battalion, who left Santa Barbara mid August, will serve a one-year rotation and be assigned mainly based on their civilian specialties. The battalion’s public affairs officer Major Allan Dollison reports that a drastic reduction in violence will most likely lessen the stress of the service members during their one-year deployment.
