The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced this week that it will honor British actor Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient) on 1/27 as part of the 2009 event. She will receive the Cinema Vanguard Award, called the Independent Award, which was given last year to actor Ryan Gosling. (/filmfest1030)
