Tennis Great Jimmy Connors Arrested at UCSB
Eight-time Grand Slam Champion Allegedly Refused to Comply with Police Orders
Jimmy Connors – the one-time number one-ranked tennis champ whose temper was perhaps as famous as his on-court skills – was arrested on Friday evening at UCSB, according to Associated Press reports. Connors was arrested at the campus’s Thunderdome events center for allegedly refusing to comply with orders to leave the area following a confrontation. Further details of the incident were not available.
UCSB’s Gauchos men’s basketball team was playing against North Carolina. Connors, who lives in Santa Barbara, is reportedly known for catching the occasional Gaucho game.
